Never Rely On Your Own Strength

It was a fine morning traveling with my family. Everyone was happy and excited about the trip. Finally, we got the chance to distress ourselves after so long. Everything we needed was packed. Nothing’s missed except for starting the day with a prayer- that very important thing I missed. I didn’t have enough sleep and got myself busy packing our things. I can’t believe prayer slipped on my mind. Maybe I was just preoccupied with the day’s fun? Yeah, it shouldn’t be as we have to put God first in everything we do.

I had a great time bonding with my family. We enjoyed the beach, beautiful mountain views, and food. But still, I didn’t make time to talk to God even just for a minute. I’ve been awake for more than 24 hours and relied only on my own strength that I’ll be fine with no sleep. While we’re heading back home, I feel nauseous. It went worse. I threw up all the food I ate. I felt very cold while trying to catch my breath. I felt like I was about to pass out. All I can see is white. As if heaven is opening up for me. At that very moment, all I wanted to do was close my eyes.

We were taking a dark road in the middle of the night and, the nearest hospital is like 30 kilometers away. That road was the best and only route we had.  I CALLED TO GOD. Yes! I finally remembered to call on Him. I prayed so, so hard that he would give me the strength to get over the horrible situation I was having. After a few minutes, I felt better.

Psalm 37:5 says, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Many of us forget to pray. Most of the time we rely on our own confidence and strength. We forget about God. Sometimes, we wait for bad things to happen before we give ourselves to Him. Always remember that in everything we do, glorifying the Lord first is the best part. He is always ready to hear us. How blessed we are that He is just one prayer away.
